Withgreat pleasure, we greet you in the midst of another successful season and onthe heels of placing 20th in the nation at the 2007 AmericanForensics Association National Individual Events Tournament. Being nationallyranked is especially impressive when considering 14 of the top 20 schools areDivision I schools. This accomplishment reflects the commitment to EXCELLENCEthat permeates our tradition-laden program.

A little over a century since itsinception, the Gustavus forensic tradition continues with multiple statechampions in both debate and individual events, two all Americans, and anationally ranked program. As the present growth and competitiveness was builtupon the strong tradition of the past, our present success will provide thefoundation for the next century of Gustavus forensics. To do so fully, we mustsolidify opportunities for more students, more championships, and more nationalrecognition.

You can be part of this strong tradition and the exciting future by joiningwith us in the Gustavus Friends of Forensics. The Gustavus Friends of Forensics is a networkof alumni, parents, and friends who are committed to making Gustavus Forensicsthe paradigm for competitive forensics. You can be a part of increasing theprogram’s national visibility by providing the necessary resources to travelnationally and internationally. Forensics Reunion February 15, 2008
 
We also wouldlike to take this opportunity to invite you to the first annual GustavusFriends of Forensics Reunion to be held, Friday, February 15 starting at 6:00pm in the 3 Crowns Room (Jackson Campus Center) in conjunction with hosting the2008 Minnesota Collegiate Forensics Association State Championships. The purpose of the reunion is to introduce GustavusFriends of Forensics, to induct the first two individuals into the GustavusAdolphus College Forensics Hall of Fame, and to celebrate our accomplishmentswith the people responsible for our storied tradition. Our program is indebtedto our alumni and friends for your dedication and continued support, and wewould be honored to have you in attendance.
